These are few things operator need to do when a printer is down for repairs.
1- Discourage users from queueing jobs for that printer which will just sit in the queue until the printer is fixed (by which time it's probably not wanted), To prevent new jobs from coming in, you need to Reject new jobs.
2- Let users know that it is down and why by leaving a sign on the printer explaining status of the printer.
Rejecting New Jobs
Follow the instruction to Reject new jobs, so that no printing will be done for the specific printer.
