Printers/Queues

Printers needs to be working at all time. Most issues regarding the printers are running out of paper, stuck job, misfeed paper and out of toner or inks. It is operator's job to replenish all supplies.

Note: If you use the last supply in the cabinet, you MUST notify your supervisor about it so more supply can be reordered.

Effect:

When printers are not functioning correctly, users cannot print from downed printers.

Who to call:

  • It is operator's responsibility to fix the existing printer problem(s).

  • Hardware and network issues should be reported immediately to your supervisors.

  • If the printer can not be fixed:
    1. Please create, print and place a note on the printer stating reasons why it is down so users will know.
    2. Then set the Printer queue to reject incoming jobs. You can modify settings for each printer at printserver.cs.rutgers.edu using admin privilleges.
